Kitchen Cabinet Refacing in Portland, OR Near Me

Cabinet refacing keeps your existing cabinet boxes and floor plan but replaces everything you see and touch. New doors and drawer fronts go on, and a matching veneer or laminate is applied to the face frames and exposed cabinet sides so the whole run looks like one new set. Homeowners in Portland, OR often choose refacing when the boxes are still solid and the layout works, but the door style, color, or wood tone feels out of date. Common materials include wood veneer, rigid thermofoil, and laminate, and door profiles range from shaker and slab to raised panel and recessed panel. Because the boxes stay in place, refacing usually involves less demolition and dust than replacement, and it often costs less, although price depends on the number of cabinets, the door style and material, and extras like glass inserts or crown molding.
Before recommending refacing, Bristol Cabinet Refresh would look at the condition of the boxes themselves. Water damage, swollen particleboard, sagging shelves, and loose face frames are structural problems that new fronts cannot fix, and in those cases replacement may be the better route. Refacing also works well alongside hardware upgrades, soft-close hinges, and new countertops, and it is worth comparing against painting or refinishing if your current doors are in good shape.
